Isle RoyaleIsle Royale National Park was established in 1940, the 25th of America's National Parks to receive designation. The park is a remote cluster of islands in Lake Superior, close to the Canadian border. Isle Royale is the largest island in Lake Superior, measuring over 45 miles in length and 9 miles wide at its widest point. A car-free wilderness of forests, lakes, and waterways, this rich source of habitats is only accessible by boat or floatplane. |
