Kobuk ValleyAbout 25 miles north of the Arctic Circle is the sprawling wilderness of Kobuk Valley National Park. Encircled by the Baird and Waring Mountain ranges, the park provides protection for important geographic features such as the central portion of the Kobuk River, and provides a passage for nearly half a million caribou that migrate through the park twice a year.
