Virgin IslandsVirgin Islands National Park was established in 1956, the 28th American National Park to receive designation. The park encompasses over half of the island of St. John and almost all of Hassel Island, preserving artifacts of the prehistoric past and dozens of historic sites that together complete one the most undisturbed and comprehensive Caribbean landscapes. Its Trunk Bay Beach has been voted one of the Ten Best Beaches in the World, and has an underground trail for snorkeling through the coral. |
