Indiana DunesIndiana Dunes National Park was designated in February of 2019, the 61st of America's National Parks to be established. Located in northwest Indiana, the park covers over 15,000 acres of land along 20 miles of Lake Michigan shoreline. The park contains various ecosystems, including the white sand dunes, marshlands, woods, waterways, and prairie. More than 350 species of birds have been observed in the park's habitats, along with rare and threatened species like the Indiana bat and piping plover. |
